Another painting which has been praised by critics and artists but not popular with art buyers. This is a watercolor of the Puerta Elvira, Granada. This was the main gate to the old city during the centuries of Moorish occupation and leads into the old quarter of the Albaicin. I liked this composition and the colours but I don’t think many people associate with the subject. Art buyers want paintings from the Albaicin which include views of the Alhambra. For example today I have sold an original painting of a little placeta in the Albaicin with the Alhambra in the background to a collector in the USA.
